The 2022 Jeep Compass has achieved the maximum rating in the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK for six crashworthiness tests conducted by IIHS. The IIHS test covers six aspects of crash and response to a collision in each vehicle tested. Thanks to Jeep’s uncompromising stance on premium quality delivery, the Jeep Compass was able to excel in all the tests to earn a top rating.
To earn a spot in the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK, each vehicle is tested for three different types of frontal crashes. The remaining three evaluates response to a side impact, rear impact, and rollover. At the end of the test, each vehicle that maintains a reasonable body shape and has minimal impact on the occupant earns a place on the list. Jeep Compass was able to come out in the above tests impressively, achieving the highest possible rating in each test which meant it sits comfortably on the list.
The cherry on top was the highest possible rating, the “superior” recognition given to the SUV’s automatic emergency braking technology, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. The Pedestrian/Cyclist Automatic Emergency Braking system also earned an “advanced” rated recognition.
